In Q4 2022, the top carpooling and ridesharing apps on iOS in South America demonstrated notable trends in downloads and active users. Here’s a closer look at the performance of the leading apps, based on data from Sensor Tower.

Uber - Request a ride experienced a steady increase in weekly downloads, starting from approximately 87K in late September and reaching nearly 149K by the end of December. Weekly active users also showed a significant rise, peaking at around 2.84M in mid-December before slightly declining to about 2.47M by the end of the quarter.

inDrive. Save on city rides saw its weekly downloads grow from around 49K in late September to approximately 73K in late December, with a peak of 86K in mid-December. The app's weekly active users followed a similar upward trend, increasing from approximately 820K to over 1M during the quarter, peaking at roughly 1.08M in mid-December.

DiDi Rider: Affordable rides had a more fluctuating download pattern, starting at around 21K and ending the quarter at approximately 29K. Active users showed a slight decline over the quarter, from about 678K in late September to approximately 599K by the end of December, with a peak of around 718K in mid-December.

Cabify exhibited a consistent increase in weekly downloads, beginning at around 15K in late September and reaching approximately 29K by the end of December. Weekly active users also improved, rising from roughly 181K to around 221K over the same period.

BlaBlaCar: Carpooling and Bus saw its weekly downloads increase from around 11K in late September to approximately 42K by the end of December, with a notable peak of 42K in the last week of December. Active users rose from around 172K to approximately 221K during the quarter, peaking at around 224K in mid-December.
